Promotional Recap
Goal: With a photography based blog it was important that no matter what I posted it have a photo attached to it. The goal of my promotional efforts was to get as many people to look at my blog as possible, and hopefully with the photos to demonstrate my photographic ability it would attract more people who believe it would improve their photography, too.

Marketing Analysis
How did you differentiate yourself from others in your niche?
Idiot Photography is a hub for specific information based of the simplest but perplexing aspects of photography. This means learning Manual style shooting to have control over the kinds of photographs you take rather than letting your camera do all the work for you. Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, are all intimidating if you don’t understand them. So I described them the same way I wish I told myself years ago. When you dumb it down and treat everyone like an idiot, you cut out the assumptions and you build up the student from top to bottom with no gaps in the learning process.
Reviewing your weekly changes, which week had the biggest change? Why do you think this was the case?
The week that felt different was near the end when I applied all three of the basic tools of photography together for an infographic. In theory, you think I should have started out with that, but because you don't need to view my blogs in any specific order I didn't feel like it mattered how far in I put it.
What worked well in your your promotional campaign? What did not?
My promotional campaign relied on the type of images I posted. The best was when I posted photos of myself or of others that my followers knew or could relate, too. That is why anything queer or the likes of it did better then something artistic. What didn't work however was the amount of engagement I was getting because of my lack of followers. Rarely did my own followers like my posts on Twitter compared to Instagram.
What was your best idea on Twitter?
My best Twitter idea was the bloody photos of Alex and Joe, those seemed to do much better than anything I posted. I would contribute part of it to chance.
What are you most proud of on your second platform?
I am most proud of the followers I had beforehand to help push my message out compared to my Twitter where I started fresh.
What platform was more successful? Why do you think this was the case?
My most successful platform was my Instagram because of the followers I had beforehand. I saw much more engagement compared to Twitter.
What would you do differently in the future?
In the future I would actively try to follow more people and post at the correct times.
